    PRESENTATION SUMMARY

Expansive sexuality is often a tabü topic for people to discuss, so is it any wonder that clients often find it challenging to talk about kinks and fetishes in session? Sexual shame keeps people from embracing the diversity of sexuality and all it can offer them and their relationships. This lecture will start with a fun interactive activity and then will focus on how expansive sexuality might present in a session. We will then examine some tips for how to talk about kinks and fetishes with clients, as well as explore how kinks and fetishes can help people manage mental health challenges such as depression and anxiety. To wrap up our time, participants will be invited to ask any questions they might have.

    LEARNING OBJECTIVES

    • Learn at least one new sex positive vocabulary term to use when talking about expansive sexuality with clients
    • Learn at least one new sex positive resource to use when working with clients
    • Learn at least one way that expansive sexuality can be a part of coping skills for a client
